THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Delivery, the Operations Coordinator or Engineer West will be responsible for the coordination of the activities of Dubbo based Infrastructure staff and contractors to ensure delivery of approved maintenance programmes and construction projects.

The successful applicant will have responsibilities for providing input into the development of work and crew programmes for work specifically relating to the Western sector of Council's Local Government area. 

 

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare project estimates and management system documents based on plans, specifications and industry standards
  • Prepare and deliver public consultation plans in relation to projects and programmes
  • Ensure compliance with and efficient implementation of the Defined Asset Management Policy as it applies to progrrammes assigned
  • Facilitate induction and information flow to operational staff and contractors
  • Emergency Response assistance
  • Obtain and respond to client and public feedback regarding projects and programmes

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or experience commensurate to the qualification
  • Extensive work experience in local government Civil Construction/maintenance
  • Ability to supervise and manage staff demonstrating good teamwork, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated experience in project and contract management with the ability to organise and manage conflicting work priorities
  • Well developed report writing and communication skills
  • Class C drivers licence and Prepare a Work Zone Traffic Management Plan ticket
